About Me

Hi, I am Olivia Thompson. I am a senior at Radford University. I will graduate in May with a B.S. in Sociology and Psychology (with a minor in Women's Studies). I am originally from Richmond, Virginia. My experience at RU helped me to believe in myself. My journey taught me the value of my education, and to never stop seeking out new knowledge. I'm very much "the bigger picture" kind of person. I also am very empathetic, which allows me to look at all angles and perspectives of a problem to help find solutions.  I am passionate about working with people and resolving conflict. My interests include all biopsychosocial facets. My degrees in psychology and sociology undoubtedly have helped me to better understand social problems on a large and individual scale. With interests in social medicine and neuropsychology, I hope to do research, experimental and clinical.  I've been trained and have a lot of practice in leading discussions between diverse groups of people to help find solutions to problems. My greatest thrill comes through constantly learning, and being challenged in new ways. I enjoy tracing the history and development of a problem through research and investigation to try and shed new light or perspective on a current social issue and I am very inclined towards social justice and equality.
